Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto International Airport until Monday (15/11) still has not operated since closed on 5 November as a result of volcanic ash eruption of Mount Merapi.
"We're still waiting for review and decision from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for the decision when to start the operation of this airport," said Public Relations International Airport Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto Isye Yuviana Monday.
According Isye Yuviana, the closure of Yogyakarta's Adi Sucipto Airport between 5 November to 15 November at 18:00 pm. "On November 8, Airport was opened at 08.00 pm. But at 14:00 pm re-closed until 15 November at 14.00 am," he said.
He said, currently, in principle, Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto Airport is ready to accept either the arrival or departure flight. "The condition of Adi Sucipto airport is safe and feasible for aviation activities and we are ready to conduct flight activities. In essence we are now very ready" he said.
Isye say, on regular flights per day on average there are 43 domestic flight arrivals and 43 departures for domestic and three international flights for departure or arrival.
"While the average number of passengers reached 5,000 people for the arrival and departure of domestic flights and 350 passengers for international arrivals and departures," he said.
